This Privacy Policy explains how MROSH Consulting LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit the Noah’s Ark Chinese website, contact us, or book lessons with us. Noah’s Ark Chinese is a project of MROSH Consulting LLC.

In short

  • We collect only what we need to schedule and teach lessons and to take payment.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising), and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.
  • Information about a child is given to us by the parent or guardian, not collected from the child.

Information we collect

  • When you email us to book a trial: your name and email address, and anything you choose to include — for example your child’s first name and age, Chinese level, time zone and preferred lesson times. Phone numbers are optional.
  • Learning details: the learner’s level, goals, time zone, lesson schedule and lesson notes.
  • Order details: what you bought, the date and the amount paid.
  • Technical data: basic information such as IP address and browser type, which our website host and payment processor collect automatically for security. Our own website has no forms and does not use advertising or analytics cookies or tracking scripts.

Sources: we get this information directly from you (the parent or guardian), from our payment processor Stripe when you pay, and automatically from your browser through our website host.

Payments (Stripe)

All card payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. You enter your card details directly on Stripe’s secure checkout; they are not stored or seen by us. We receive only limited information such as your name, email, billing country, the amount, the last four digits of the card and the payment status. Stripe may use cookies and similar technology on its checkout pages to prevent fraud. Stripe’s privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.

Children’s privacy

  • Our website and booking process are intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • Lessons are booked and paid for by a parent or guardian, and we communicate with the parent or guardian. To plan lessons, the parent may tell us the child’s first name, age and Chinese level. We use this only to teach the child and to send lesson notes to the parent.
  • A child takes part in lessons by live video call that the parent sets up. We do not record lessons unless all participants — and, for a child, the parent — agree in advance.
  • The child joins the call on the parent’s device or account. Our teachers do not ask a child for contact details or other personal information, and we do not require a child to give more information than is reasonably needed to take part in a lesson.
  • We use a child’s information only to teach the child and communicate with the parent. We do not sell or share it, and we disclose it only to the service providers listed below (for example, the video-call platform) as needed to provide lessons, or when required by law.
  • Parents can ask at any time to see, correct or delete their child’s information, and can stop further use of it, by emailing hello@noahsarkchinese.com.
  • If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information without a parent’s consent, we will delete it.

YouTube channel

Our website links to our YouTube channel. YouTube is operated by Google and has its own privacy policy, which applies when you visit it. We do not receive personal information about you from YouTube when you watch our videos.

How we use information

  • to schedule and deliver trial lessons and lessons;
  • to process payments and send confirmations and receipts;
  • to answer questions and handle cancellations and refunds;
  • to send lesson notes and materials you asked for;
  • to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to prevent fraud.

We email you about lessons you booked. We send other updates only if you ask for them; any such email includes a way to unsubscribe and our postal address, and you can stop them at any time.

Text messages: if you give us a phone number, we use it only to text you about scheduling your lessons — never for marketing. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Giving a phone number is optional, and we do not share phone numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of anyone under 16. We disclose it only to service providers we need to run our lessons, and only as needed for them to provide their service, or when required by law (for example, a valid legal request) or to protect our rights:

  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and security;
  • our email provider — to send and receive email;
  • Zoom or Google Meet — live video lessons. Video-call platforms process data under their own privacy policies.

If the business is ever sold or reorganized, personal information may be transferred to the new owner, who must use it in line with this policy. We and our service providers may store and process information in the United States and in other countries where our team or providers work.

Retention

  • Payment and order records: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally up to 7 years).
  • Trial requests that do not lead to lessons: deleted within 12 months.
  • Learner and lesson information (including a child’s age, level and lesson notes): kept while lessons continue and deleted within 12 months after the last lesson.

We delete information sooner if you ask us to, unless we must keep it by law.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as secure (HTTPS) connections, reputable service providers and limiting access to people who need it to teach or run the business. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we never handle full card numbers ourselves.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. Depending on where you live (for example, California or other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights. We will not treat you differently for using them. Email hello@noahsarkchinese.com; we may ask for information to confirm your identity (for example, the email you used with us), and we reply within 30 days, and in any case within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal”.

Notice for California residents

This section applies to California residents and is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA), where it applies to us.

  • Categories we collect (past 12 months): identifiers (name, email, phone number, IP address); customer records (contact and limited payment details); characteristics such as age (the learner’s age, if given); commercial information (purchases); internet activity (basic technical data for security); and education-related information (Chinese level, goals and lesson notes). We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
  • Sources, purposes and recipients: as described in “Information we collect”, “How we use information” and “Sharing” above. We disclose each category to service providers only for those business purposes.
  • Sale and sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
  • Your rights: to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to access, correct and delete it; to opt out of sale or sharing; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. To make a request, email hello@noahsarkchinese.com.
  • Retention: see “Retention” above.
  • Do Not Track and “Shine the Light”: our website does not track you across other websites, so it does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always posted on this page with its “Last updated” date, which is its effective date. If we make a significant change, we will email current customers before it applies, and we will not use a child’s information in a materially different way without the parent’s consent.
